LineUp

Founded in 1914, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has thrived despite challenges, with highlights like the first radio symphonic concert in 1922. Under directors like Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Paul Paray, and Leonard Slatkin, the DSO gained international acclaim and won several awards. It overcame financial woes and now thrives at the restored Orchestra Hall. Notable collaborations include Chandos, Mercury, and Naxos labels. Jader Bignamini became music director in 2020, continuing DSO’s legacy of excellence.
Born in Detroit, Dianne Reeves is renowned for her jazz vocals and scat singing, reminiscent of Dinah Washington and Carmen McRae. She's collaborated with legends like Sergio Mendes, Harry Belafonte, and George Duke. Notable albums include "I Remember" and "The Calling: Celebrating Sarah Vaughan." She appeared in the film "Good Night, and Good Luck" and won acclaim for "Beautiful Life." Her style blends jazz with African and world music influences.
Jörg Widmann, born 1973 in Munich, Germany, is a renowned composer, conductor, and clarinetist. His imaginative contemporary classical music engages with Classical and Romantic traditions. He is celebrated for works like "Con brio" and opera "Babylon." Widmann received the Bach Prize (2023) and was the third most performed living contemporary composer (2023). He released the album "Invitation" (2026) and collaborates with leading artists.
