Formed in Bellville, South Africa, Fokofpolisiekar is a post-hardcore band known for their bold social commentary. Their provocative debut EP, *As Jy met Vuur Speel Sal Jy Brand*, and tracks like "Hemel op de Platteland," gained widespread attention. With albums like *Lugsteuring* and *Swanesang*, they influenced African music by tackling Afrikaner identity and challenging conservative norms. Despite controversy, they found success with side projects like Van Coke Cartel, aKING, and Die Heuwels Fantasties, and released a documentary in 2009.
