LineUp

Founded by Theodore Thomas, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra rivals the New York Philharmonic and excels in late-romantic works and premieres. Known for international acclaim, Grammy wins under Georg Solti, and iconic recordings, especially in the "Living Stereo" era.
Born in New York, Marin Alsop was the first woman to lead Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (2007-2021). She’s known for blending jazz and classical styles, recording extensively for Naxos, and supporting American music from composers like Bernstein and Barber. Alsop has made her mark internationally with achievements like the MacArthur "genius grant," and as the first female chief conductor of Vienna Radio Symphony. She's collaborated with orchestras worldwide including the São Paulo State Symphony, and launched initiatives like Baltimore's OrchKids.
Pianist Michelle Cann, known for her rich sound, debuted at 14 and performed with top orchestras. She champions Florence Price's work, winning a GRAMMY for a concerto recording. Cann received the 2022 Sphinx Medal and Andrew Wolf Award. She excels as both performer and educator, teaching master classes and serving on competition juries.
