Born in New York, Marin Alsop was the first woman to lead Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (2007-2021). Pianist Michelle Cann, known for her rich sound, debuted at 14 and performed with top orchestras. She champions Florence Price's work, winning a GRAMMY for a concerto recording. Cann received the 2022 Sphinx Medal and Andrew Wolf Award. She excels as both performer and educator, teaching master classes and serving on competition juries.
