DJ Carbo (Michael Carbonel) is a Boston-based club DJ, electronic music producer, and open-format performer known for his long-standing presence in the American underground music scene. Originally starting his career during the late-1990s drum and bass era in Los Angeles, he later returned to his hometown of Boston, where he specializes in indie, house, hip-hop, and electronic club music.

Formed in the late ’80s at SUNY Buffalo, Mercury Rev are psych-pop experimenters led by Jonathan Donahue and Grasshopper. Their breakthrough came with 1998’s Deserter’s Songs; later releases include Snowflake Midnight and Bobbie Gentry’s The Delta Sweete Revisited.
