Ethiopian keyboardist Hailu Mergia, famous for '70s funk/jazz with Walias Band, immigrated to the U.S., drove taxis, and revived his career with 2018's "Lala Belu." Known for blending jazz and Ethiopian music, collaborated with Awesome Tapes from Africa.
