Munich-based German rock & roll revivalists Spider Murphy Gang, named after Elvis Presley’s fictional sax player in “Jailhouse Rock,” broke through in the early-’80s new wave era with a rootsy bar band sound and Top Ten hits “Skandal im Sperrbezirk” and “Schui Tog.”

Status Quo

British rock band Status Quo, known for their heavy boogie rock, scored numerous UK Top Ten hits like "Down Down" and "Rockin' All Over the World." Founded in London, they evolved from psychedelia to hard rock, sold millions, and collaborated with Manchester United on "Come On You Reds." Despite limited US success, they remained a UK staple for over 50 years.
