Bassist Steve Dawson was key to British metal band Saxon (formed 1972 as Son of a Bitch). Co-wrote tracks on Wheels of Steel and later albums incl. Denim & Leather and Power & the Glory. Left in 1985, fired in 1986; inspired Spinal Tap’s Derek Smalls.
