L.A. punk band formed in 1976, dubbed “the Mexican Ramones.” Led by Javier Escovedo, they opened the Germs’ first gig in 1977, broke up in 1981, and released the album Right Now! (1999). Their songs were covered by bands worldwide.

The Mentors

The Mentors, formed in Seattle in 1976, pioneered shock rock with crude lyrics and black-hooded shows. Known for "You Axed for It," they influenced punk/metal scenes and toured with Ministry.
