Trey Anastasio, born in New Jersey, co-founded jam band Phish, known for eclectic improv rock and songs like "You Enjoy Myself." He's collaborated with Les Claypool, Stewart Copeland, and Philip Glass, blending free jazz, prog rock, and pop. Anastasio has solo projects, formed Oysterhead, scored orchestras, and stepped in for Jerry Garcia with the Grateful Dead tribute shows.
Banker Henry Lee Higginson founded the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1881 and the Boston Pops, known for lighter, popular concerts. Arthur Fiedler led Pops for 50 years, making it a hit with RCA. John Williams and Keith Lockhart later followed, keeping the Pops a beloved American tradition.
