Duke Robillard, born in Rhode Island, is a celebrated guitarist known for his warm blues and roots rock sound. Founder of Roomful of Blues, he also played with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and collaborated with artists like Herb Ellis and Bob Dylan. His work spans solo projects and collaborations, earning multiple W.C. Handy Awards and a Grammy nomination. Notable albums include Blue Mood: The Songs of T-Bone Walker and The Acoustic Blues & Roots of Duke Robillard.
The Bluetones, formed in Hounslow, England in 1994, delivered guitar-driven Brit-pop with a touch of psychedelia. Known for hits like "Slight Return," their debut album "Expecting to Fly" topped UK charts in 1996. Despite mixed reviews and limited US success, they remained influential, capturing the blend of the Stone Roses and Oasis.
